Best Bathroom Flooring

We often get asked “what is best for putting on the floor in my Bathroom, Carpet or Vinyl?”

The answer is fairly simple – Either will be good, providing that you take suitable precautions.

While purpose made bathroom carpet is best because it generally comes with a Gel Back, all other carpets will be satisfactory unless you are always splashing and having water fights in the bathroom! Standard bath mats or other protective mats will take care of most spillages.

Vinyl flooring is generally recommended because it is water resistant and easily cleanable. You will need to take care if there is excessive water on the floor as the surface may become slippery. Most vinyls are rated for slip resistance, R10 or R11 rating is best. Vinyls are also made in narrower sizes, rolls such as 2, 3 and 4 metre wide will reduce wastage when ordering your floor.
