How Much Will My New Flooring Cost?

By Andy Laird  |   |  Jan 6, 2015

This is probably the first question that comes to mind when you are considering changing your flooring. It is something that most people do every 10 years, or when moving house.

The first deciding issue will be the quality of the carpet or flooring that you want and the second will be the size of the area concerned. The accessories such as underlay and doorbars, as well as the cost of installing the product need to be included in the overall cost.

Judging the cost required really means “How much will the whole job cost?” and not just “How much per sq.m. is the flooring?”. This is a mistake many customers make, but you really don’t need to worry, with Fludes Carpets we make it as painless as possible!

Here is a little example to show you what we mean:

Price of Carpet £30 sq.m. £20 sq.m.
Carpet £600.00 400.00
Underlay £180.00 £180.00
1 door Bar £9.00 £9.00
Fitting £60.00 £60.00
Total £849.00 £649.00

When comparing the figures, you will see that the accessories for the two different carpets cost the same. So if you want to move from a £20 to a £30 carpet, the jump in cost is not as big as you may initially imagine.

Don’t forget, you can have a look at our carpet calculator if you would like more information before you contact us!

You also need to consider any extra services that you may want such as moving of furniture, or uplifting and disposing of the old flooring. You may also need new grippers, so it is best to get professional advice on this important purchase.
